No. 5: Georgetown 53, Kentucky 40 (NCAA Tournament Final Four: March 31, 1984 in the Kingdome, Seattle)
Mark Story's comment: Kentucky raced to a 29-22 halftime lead against Patrick Ewing and the fearsome Hoyas. The second half was a UK nightmare. Somehow, the Cats of Sam Bowie, Melvin Turpin, Dicky Beal and Co. shot a horrid 3-for-33 from the floor after halftime as Kentucky endured one of its most head-scratching setbacks.
Excerpt from the original game story: The 9.1 was the percentage UK shot -- if "shot" is the proper word -- in a second half in which the Wildcats became the gang that couldn't shoot straight.
